CHBA-ER / UDI Amalgamation

We are delighted to announce that the membership of both UDI – Edmonton Metro and CHBA – Edmonton Region have voted in favour of amalgamating the two associations into one larger, more impactful entity – BILD Edmonton Metro. The percentage of votes received IN FAVOUR was 88.2% for CHBA – Edmonton Region members, and 92.1% for UDI – Edmonton Metro members. The required threshold to proceed was 75%.

What does this mean? As BILD Edmonton Metro, we will be the voice and expert resource for the real estate development industry in the Edmonton Metro Region. We will focus on the following priorities for our members:

• Unified Advocacy: Joining forces means more effective advocacy efforts on issues crucial to both CHBA and UDI members.
• Expanded Networking Opportunities: Access more and larger networking events, fostering valuable business connections and opportunities.
• Enhanced Member Services: Enjoy enhanced and expanded member services designed to meet your evolving needs. 
• Industry Involvement: Get more opportunities to engage in supporting your industry and building your brand.

Next Steps

• From May 2, 2024, to March 31, 2025, a Transition Board will complete their CEO search, support the new CEO and association staff to draft a new Strategic Plan, prepare a new budget and work plan, and review and elevate events and initiatives for our members.
• Previously planned events and initiatives of both UDI – Edmonton Metro and CHBA – Edmonton Region will continue to advance as planned until year-end.

We are very excited to advance this work, and know that we will need to keep each and every one of our members appraised as we move forward.
